Relaxer by Verner Panton

Danish design.

Relaxer One

In one sweeping curve, Panton has accentuated the art of seating, with a chair which is ergonomically fitted to any body size and posture. It was originally designed in 1974 for Rosenthal Studioline and produced in Germany. Due to the relatively small numbers produced then, the Panton Relaxer chair has turned into a highly collectible object for vintage design aficionados and collectors. From poolside relaxation and bar lounging, to the kids’ favorite computer gaming chair; the Relaxer is already re-claiming its past state as one of the most interesting icons of Verner Panton’s design universe. It’s easily removed, washable covers are attached with Velcro straps. We use high-quality polyurethane foam cushion to ensure maximum comfort.  Licensed design in oak and grey coloured fabric.

Verner Panton found designing fun. And it’s as if he never saw the limitations of the material. His inspired, imaginative designs made him unique and put him among the very best designers of the “Danish golden age”. He was trained at a technical school in Odense, Denmark as an architectural engineer and then at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen.
